Home Burns In Newhall


Just before 4:00 Wednesday afternoon, Los Angeles County Fire Department officials responded to a house fire at 24706 Newhall Avenue, just across the street from Newhall Elementary School and Hart High School.

The fire was pounced on by multiple engines and doused completely by 4:06.

Hart Schools On Furlough Friday

khts_schools_chalkboardHart district students will have a four-day weekend starting Friday, and teachers who originally anticipated a staff development day will have a free day as well, thanks to a furlough day negotiated with the teachers and union.

The furlough day is one of a handful of staff-free days scheduled this year to save the district more than $1 million in salaries during this fiscally challenging time.
