Lane Closures For Grapevine

khts_caltransThe California Department of Transportation in cooperation with Security Paving Company are nearing completion of a pavement rehabilitation project on northbound Interstate 5 in Kern County near the Los Angeles County line to the Grapevine Creek Bridge.

Lane closures are necessary to safely reconstruct and replace deteriorated concrete panels on the northbound I-5 outside lane.

School Bells Take On New Meaning During Holidays

Staff members from the Wm. S. Hart Union High School District's administrative center turned into musicians for the holidays, thanks to the efforts of Lorraine King, the superintendent's administrative assistant. King directs a hand chime choir for her church and every year take on the task of teaching the art to volunteers from the district staff.

Old Road Bridge Called Substandard


A well-traveled bridge in Valencia was rated substandard by Caltrans, a national traffic safety firm recently announced.

The bridge that goes over the Santa Clara River on The Old Road between Magic Mountain Parkway and Rye Canyon Road was deemed the fourth most dangerous bridge in the Los Angeles metro area by Caltrans, according to TRIP, a Washington D.C.-based national transportation organization.
