Harmonic Bronze Handbell Ensemble Performs On Christmas Eve

Harmonic Bronze, the Acton-based handbell ensemble, has been chosen to participate in the 50th Annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration, airing December 24th on KCET.

Sponsored by the L.A. County Arts Commission, the group will be appearing with other top performers from throughout the L.A. area in this annual celebration of the arts and the holidays.

Metrolink Service Suspended After Sylmar Crash

UPDATED 10:59 a.m. Wednesday

Investigators are still on the scene of a 7 a.m. incident involving a northbound Metrolink train that struck a vehicle on the tracks near Sylmar. Metrolink officials hope to have service restored before noon.

Metrolink service was suspended this morning after the train struck a car near the intersection of San Fernando Road and Branford Street.

Golden Valley Boys Basketball Team Advances To San Fernando Tournament Final

sportsgoldenvalleyThe Golden Valley boys basketball team got 20 points and 17 rebounds from Trevor Wiseman in a 77-60 win over Jordan in the semifinals of the San Fernando Valley Invitational tournament.

Taylor Statham and Khatari Price each added 16 points for Golden Valley.


Golden Valley will play Burbank tonight at Kennedy High School in the championship game of the tournament.

Antonovich Calls For Congressional Investigation Of Forestry


Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich is going to the top to prevent another disaster like the conflicted response to August's Station Fire.

Antonovich has written to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein requesting a Congressional investigation into the U.S. Forest Service's claims that terrain in the Angeles National Forest prohibited the use of aerial support.



Detectives Nab Stabbing Suspect After Five-Month Investigation

khts_crimeJust because a crime was committed in the summer doesn't mean that detectives aren't working on it.

Detectives from the City of Santa Clarita/Sheriff's COBRA unit have been actively investigating a stabbing incident which occurred on July 19.


On that night, patrol deputies were called to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital after 2 a.m. to reports that the hospital personnel were treating multiple people with stab wounds and other injuries.

Lee Smelser To Be Honored At Saturday's Game For Longtime Service

This month the College of the Canyons men¹s basketball team will retire jersey No. 1 in recognition of former longtime head coach Lee Smelser and his more than 30 years of service to the college.

The College of the Canyons Lee Smelser Jersey Retirement Ceremony will take place Saturday, December 27, prior to the team's 7 p.m. tipoff with visiting Fullerton College in the Cougar's first round game of the 20th Annual Cougar Holiday Classic basketball tournament.
