Teen Arrested After Golf Cart Getaway


Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies from the Santa Clarita station arrested a 16 year-old boy after a short-lived jaunt around town in a stolen golf cart.

According to Sheriff's officials, the suspect walked away from a psychiatrist appointment at Kaiser on Tourney Rd., and allegedly stole a golf cart from the Valencia Country Club nearby. The incident occurred just before noon Tuesday.

Dodgers Broadcaster Vin Scully Will Be Back For 61st Season

vinscullyThe Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully will return to the broadcast booth for the 61st year in 2010.

"For six decades, Dodger fans have been truly blessed to have Vin Scully on the air and we are honored that he will be back in the booth again next season," said Dodger Owner Frank McCourt. "He has been the one constant over the years and I know that our fans will cherish every game he calls."

Early Morning Accident Hampers Tuesday Commute

Truck accident's remnants make for ugly a.m. drive.

A two vehicle accident early Tuesday morning had a damaging ripple effect throughout the morning commute.

A freight truck was headed southbound on the I-5 north of Hwy 14 just after 3:30 a.m. when it collided with a GMC truck carrying produce. The accident forced the GMC to skid out of control and sent produce flying across all lanes of the freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver and passenger of the GMC received moderate injuries.

The Master's College Men's Soccer Team Makes School History

sportslocalThe Master's College men's soccer team got a goal from an unlikely player and won, 1-0, over Indiana Tech in the NAIA men's soccer national tournament in Fresno.

Andy Hegg converted on a penalty kick, only his fifth goal in two years of playing for The Master's College, and put his team in the quarterfinals of the NAIA soccer tournament for the first time in school history.
