December 9th: Kings Over Sharks 5-4

Wednesday, the Los Angeles Kings traveled to San Jose to faceoff with the Sharks. Kings and Sharks were tied 4-4 at the end of the 3rd period and LA was able to put it away in overtime - defeating San Jose 5 to 4.


Thursday, the Kings come home to welcome the Phoenix Coyotes at the Staples. Tune in to AM-1220 KHTS at 7PM for Exciting Los Angeles Kings Hockey.

City's Recovery Zone Bond Could Boost Area By $13 Million

RZFBs are tax-exempt private activity bonds authorized by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) to stimulate the local economy. The program allocated $13,270,000 to the City of Santa Clarita for the purpose of investing in private projects that would benefit the community.

Valencia's Lonnie Jackson Scores School Record 38 Points In Canyon Classic Basketball Tournament

sportslocalValencia High basketball player Lonnie Jackson scored a school-record 38 points in his team's 96-50 win over Grant in the Canyon Classic at Canyon High School last night.

Jackson broke the mark of 35 points set by Curtis Dunwoody and Jerron Jordan. Jackson had 25 points at halftime and, with his team comfortably out front, sat out the last nine minutes of the game. Brandon Bennett chipped in with 10 points for Valencia.


Weste Sworn In As Santa Clarita Mayor

At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, Laurene Weste assumed her role as the mayor of Santa Clarita.

Frank Ferry ended his one-year term, which rotates every December between the five sitting Council members.

After Weste was sworn in, she immediately thanked her fellow Council members, whom she says all subscribe to the teamwork needed to run the City.
