Whites Roll-Over Snarls Traffic

rolloverA man driving north on Whites Canyon lost control of his vehicle and rolled over the embankment of the Via Princessa bridge Tuesday morning.

The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, but traffic in the area suffered a blow.

All traffic was forced to take a detour as a tow truck pulled the pickup from the steep embankment.


A Man's Big Heart Helps Kids

khts_givingbackA local man is teaming up with a health care clinic to help bring joy to children in neighboring hospitals.

Dan Mills, 20, heard of Prima Pediatrics' efforts to raise money and toy donations through their campaign called "Share the Joy, Donate a Toy," and last year raised more than $400 for the cause.

The Master's College Men's Soccer Team Wins Conference Tournament, Heads To NAIA Tournament

sportslocalThe Master's College men's soccer team won the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament and earned the No. 15 seed in the NAIA men's soccer tournament.

The Master's College will host Holy Names on Saturday in the first round of the national championship tournament.

Jacob Marchesani, Joel Peluffo and Marlon Lindo each scored in The Master's College's 3-1 win over Biola in the Golden State Athletic Conference championship game.


Hart Board Wants To Move Castaic High Site To Next Level

Former KROQ Staffer Dies After Reality Show Stunt

tomsparksFormer KROQ personality Tom Sparks died Nov. 5 when he suffered a stroke after competing in the ultra-physical reality competition show "Wipeout," which is filmed in Sand Canyon.

Sparks, 33, complained of knee pain and shortness of breath after the competition and was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where it is reported he had several brain surgeries.


Blue Bonnet Margarine Subject To Recall


ConAgra Foods, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is voluntarily recalling a limited number of 15 oz. tubs of Blue Bonnet Spread that were inadvertently mispackaged-the lid is for regular Blue Bonnet Spread and the tub portion describes the product as Blue Bonnet Light Spread. The product inside of the tub is regular Blue Bonnet Spread. As a result, the product tubs do not declare the allergen whey (milk), as an ingredient.

COC Cougars Headed For Western State Bowl

The College of the Canyons football team has received an invitation and will play in the Western State Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m., which will be hosted by Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.


The 12th-ranked Cougars finished the 2009 season in fourth place in the National Division, Northern Conference with a 3-3 record and 6-4 overall record while No. 8 Saddleback College was the third-place finisher in the National Division, Southern Conference.
