H1N1 Vaccination Clinic Set At Sports Complex

The City of Santa Clarita and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will host a free, walk-in H1N1 vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, December 4 at the City's Sports Complex Activities Center.

Postal Service Dear Santa Letter Program Undeliverable This Year

santaclausHopeful souls who put pen to paper in hopes that a jolly old elf will bring them toys - or sometimes food, clothing, a job or place to live - may find themselves out in the cold this year, since the United States Postal Service has been forced to end its Dear Santa letter program in the greater Los Angeles area.



Mysterious Package Has High Yield

A package delivered to a local car dealership contained a surprise that resulted in a handoff to the sheriff.

Lt. Robert Lewis from the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station said that the manager of Valencia Jeep Eagle on Creekside Road called for deputies after he opened a package delivered to the dealership, but addressed to a previous tenant of the property.

The package contained a kilo of marijuana.

"He thought it would be a good idea to turn in something that didn't belong to them," Lewis said.

It was standing-room only at the William S. Hart School District offices Wednesday night, as the Governing Board voted to dismiss one of the three possible sites for a new Castaic High School. The Green Valley Ranch property will no longer be considered, but Environmental Impact Reports and other due diligence procedures will be carried out for both the Romero and Hasley/Sloan properties.
