Ten Children Found In Two Castaic Drug Houses

khts_crimeTwo homes in Castaic were raided yesterday after months of surveillance by narcotics detectives who suspected both locations were involved in drug trafficking.

After serving search warrants at a home in the 27500 block of Violin Canyon Drive and another at a home in the 31400 block of Arrow Point, both in Castaic, detectives arrested three men and one woman.


Transit Deputy Involved In Collision In Newhall

A reserve sheriff's deputy assigned to the Transit Division Training Unit was involved in a minor traffic accident while enroute home today.

According to Lt. Robert Lewis, watch commander at the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station, the deputy was in the area of Newhall Avenue and Railroad Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. when the front end of his motorcycle was clipped by another vehicle. The deputy's motorcycle flipped over and he fell forward to the ground.

Caltrans Closures For I-5/SR14 Carpool Lane Project

khts_caltrans4The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes, ramps, connectors and collector roads of the Antelope Valley Freeway (SR-14), the Foothill Freeway (I-210) and the Golden State Freeway (I-5) as part of a $161-million improvement project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV or carpool) lanes and a direct HOV lane connector at the I-5/SR-14 interchange.

City Will Weigh New Commercial Development In Circle J

Valencia, Hart At Home In First Round Of CIF Football Playoffs

sportslocalThe undefeated Valencia football team takes on Thousands Oaks from the Marmonte League in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Northern Division playoffs tonight at Valencia High School.

Valencia is the top seeded team in the playoffs. Thousand Oaks finished in fourth place in the deep Marmonte League.
