Eternal Valley Helps Seniors

Dignitaries from Eternal Valley Memorial Park visited the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center on November 3rd to lend their support to the Center's Adult Day Care & Resource Center.

Eternal Valley Memorial Park General Manager Richard Steinmetz headed the delegation that included Mortuary Director Steve Otten and Marketing Director Jim Biby.

In addition to presenting their first quarterly check for $900 to ADCRC Executive Director Brad Berens, the benefactors were given a tour of the facility by the ADCRC Supervisor Gladys Ehrhardt.

For most of the past 32 Thanksgivings, my family and I have traveled to Northern California for the holiday. This year we are staying home. One of the benefits of having the holiday dinner at our house, besides not packing three kids in the car at 4am and driving for 8 hours, is the leftovers.

Today, we'll delve into some creative ways to use Thanksgiving leftovers to make brand new dishes!

November 26th: Kings Lose 4-1

Castaic School Site Selection Meeting To Be Broadcast Local TV

Wildland Fire Science Class To Be Offered

The U.S. Forest Service will be hosting a recruitment meeting on Tuesday, December 8th at 11:40 am, at the Frazier Mountain High School, for a Wildland Fire Science class. The 2010 class will begin on Monday, January 11th and will be taught at Frazier Mountain High School.

LA County Fire Chief Announces Retirement

The man in charge of the Los Angeles County Fire Department is retiring, according to the department’s website. P. Michael Freeman, who held the post of fire chief for nearly 21 years, says he’s looking forward to spending more time with his family.

November 25th: Kings Win 3-1

Wednesday, the Kings were in Edmonton to face the Oilers. Kings were able to rally and get the win. 3 to 1 was the final.

Churches Join In Giving, Earn Thanks

Bare cupboards were set to pose a threat to Thanksgiving this week, but some local churches teamed up to make feasts available to some of the poorest in our community. A major donation this morning will help buoy the Church of Hope food pantry at the Hope For a Find thrift shop through the holiday weekend.
