Six Flags To Add Family Coaster To Roster In 2010

coastertwistAnother roller coaster will be added to the Six Flags Magic Mountain roster of rides in 2010, but this one promises to be a gentler, more family-friendly series of thrills.

Officials at the park announced Tuesday that the family coaster -currently unnamed - will bring the total number of coasters in the park to 17 and will be located in the northwest corner of the park, near this summer's popular new addition, "Terminator Salvation: The Ride"

Road Closures And Delays Due To Marathon Sunday


The City of Santa Clarita is informing community members about road closures scheduled for Sunday, November 8 to accommodate the annual Santa Clarita Marathon.  Closures will be in place periodically throughout from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and detours will be provided for major closures.


McBean Parkway from Magic Mountain Parkway to Valencia Boulevard will be closed from 5:00 a.m. till 7:15 a.m.

McGrath's Election Victory Leaves Newhall Board One Seat Shy

news_politicsThe election of incumbent J. Michael McGrath to the Newhall School District board won't change the fact that he will not be taking the seat.

McGrath had announced that he was withdrawing his name for consideration on September 15, however by then it was too late to remove his name from the ballot.

Four Hart Girls Advance To CIF Southern Section Golf Finals

sportshartFour members of the Hart girls golf team advanced to the CIF Southern Section individual finals.

Brenna Carlson, Kendall Dusenberry, Nikki Prichard and Amanda Corr each advanced after making the cut at the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regional at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai on Tuesday. Carlson led the way for the Hart girls with a 1-under par, 71. Dusenberry shot 1-over par, 73.
