Group Sets Goal To Collect One Ton Of Food

Local food pantry to benefit just in time for Thanksgiving.

Three local businesses have teamed up to promote a major food drive in Santa Clarita dubbed "Fill the Pantry." At Home magazine, KHTS AM-1220 and Consumers Furniture Gallery are asking residents to bring a bag (or more) of non-perishable food items to Consumers Furniture by November 8.

Valencia Football Team Looks To Stay Undefeated Against Saugus

sportslocalThe Valencia football team brings its perfect 8-0 record to College of the Canyons against Saugus tonight.

Valencia is coming off a 56-7 blowout against Hart. Saugus, 42-26 winners over Golden Valley last week, is fighting for its playoff life.

 

Three teams are tied for second place in the Foothill League. Only the top three teams in league are guaranteed playoff spots.

 

Former Hart Aide Arrested Again For Prostitution

A former Hart District instructional aide has been arrested for a second time for offering sexual services on the Internet, this time in New York.

According to ABC23 in Bakersfield, Nassau County officials arrested and arraigned 56-year-old Katharine Silvers today on charges of felony unauthorized practice of profession and a misdemeanor count of prostitution.

PetSmart Recalls Beef Hoof Products For Salmonella Contamination

PetSmart is voluntarily recalling two Dentley's Beef Hoof products for potential salmonella contamination. The products were manufactured by Pet Carousel, Inc. in Sanger, Calif.

The recalled products include only the following types of Dentley's Beef Hooves purchased between Oct. 2, 2009 and Nov. 3, 2009:

Veterans Invited To Series Of Events Surrounding Holiday

New Works Festival Turns Ten

COC graphicCollege of the Canyons is looking for new and original play scripts for the 10th annual New Works Festival (NWF).

Sponsored by the college's Theatre and English departments, the festival will accept all forms of work for consideration; including monologues, scenes, 10-minute plays, single acts and full-length two-act plays.

The Master's College Men's Soccer Team Advances In Conference Tournmament

Joel Peluffo scored the only goal of the game in the third minute. Goalkeeper Kevin Lawson recorded his 10th shutout of the season.
