Smyth Recognized By State Chamber For Business Support

For the third consecutive year, Assemblyman Cameron Smyth  has received a 100% rating from the California Chamber of Commerce for his positions on bills impacting the state's business community.

"It is always an honor to be recognized by the California Chamber of Commerce, an organization with a long history of standing up for the small businesses that are the backbone of our economy," said Smyth.

Veterans Day Ceremony

The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday November 11, and will include musical performers, speakers, and a changing of the flags.

Four Foothill League Teams Prepare For CIF Girls Volleyball Playoffs

sportslocalThe CIF Southern Section girls volleyball playoffs begin today with four teams from the Foothill League in action.

The Valencia girls, winners of the Foothill League, will host Villa Park from the Century League in the first round of the Division I-A playoffs.

 

West Ranch is also at home and will play Calvary Chapel, the second place team from the Orange Coast League.

 

Business Set To Open At Westfield Valencia Town Center Patios

On Wednesday, November 18, the Westfield Valencia Town Center will celebrate the opening of several new shops and restaurants in their new section called "The Patios."

While a portion of The Patios is still under construction, several new businesses are ready to open their doors. Additional businesses will continue to open throughout the next year.

 

November 9th: Kings Lose In Chicago 4-1

Monday, the Kings started the first of five games on the road - facing the Blackhawks in Chicago. The Kings and Blackhawks were tied one a piece heading into the 3rd period but Chicago was able to knock in 3 goals thus defeating the Kings. Final score was 4 to 1.

Maclaren Recalls A Million Strollers For Pinching Hazard

A major stroller manufacturer has recalled a million strollers due to a hinge mechanism that could cause amputation or laceration to children.

In cooperation with the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Maclaren USA is conducting the recall after receiving 15 reports of children placing their fingers in the stroller hinge, resulting in 12 reports of fingertip amputation when the consumer unfolded or opened the stroller.

Rowher Flat Recreation Area Reopened

Just over two years to the date that they were closed because of the Buckweed Fires that roared through Soledad Canyon in October 2007, the Rowher Flat Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area have reopened. The popular riding area is located in the Angeles National Forest off the 14 Freeway northeast of Santa Clarita.
