    Target House Brand Potato Salad Recalled

    Garden-Fresh Foods, Inc. is recalling 16-ounce containers of Archer Farms Potato Salad with an expiration date of 10/04/2009 because they may contain undeclared milk allergens. People who have allergies to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this undeclared product.

    The recalled 16-ounce Archer Farms Potato Salad were distributed nationwide at SuperTarget retail stores.

    After a major wildfire, the burned areas are transformed into baron, dry slices of land. When the rainy season arrives, the lack of vegetation allows water to run unobstructed down hills and can even cause mudslides.

    With so many homes affected by the Station Fire, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has begun offering free engineering advice for homeowners concerned about erosion, mud-flows, and related issues, according to Supervisor Michael Antonovich.

    A recent study shows that four of every ten home fire deaths resulted from fires with no smoke alarms in 2003-2006.

    The study titled "Smoke Alarms in U.S. Home Fires," released by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

    Brush Fire Burns 1/4 Acre Near 14 Freeway!

    Update:  2:23 PM - On Sunday at 1:50 PM, a brush fire broke out along the 14 freeway near Golden Valley.

    Los Angeles County Fire has advised that the fire was contained to a quarter acre and was put out by 2:16 PM.There were no reports of injuries and no structures were threatened.
