    UPDATED: A Sherman Oaks man died Tuesday after what seemed like a minor accident on the Golden State Freeway.

    John T. Magee, 66, had stopped on the right shoulder of the northbound I-5 south of Osito Canyon to change a tire. He walked over to the driver's side door to put something in the car as a Ford Explorer driven by Jacob Mussry, 42, of Beverly Hills passed him.

    Tsunami Advisory Issued For West Coast After Samoa Earthquake

    A Tsumani Advisory for the coastal areas of National California and Oregon from the California-Mexico border to the Oregon-Washington border is in effect due to a magnitude 8.3 earthquake that struck the Samoa Islands region today at 10:48 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time.

    The earthquake generated a tsunami in the Samoa Islands that caused the death of at least 20 people and injured 50.

    School Videotape Stops Graffiti Streak

    A prolific graffiti vandal has been caught and faces felony charges when he returns to court on Thursday after a campus camera captured his dirty deeds on videotape.

    Garrett Williams, 18, of Canyon Country, was arrested Sept. 21 after a security tape from Canyon High School caught his last defiant act.
