Ryan Keith Wins Pepsi Tour Golf Tournament At Robinson Ranch

sportslocalRyan Keith of Saugus won the Pepsi Tour golf tournament at Robinson Ranch on Sunday. He shot an even-par 72 and won by two strokes over Darren Angel of Northridge and Tye Alexander of Chino.

It was Keith's second win on the Pepsi Tour. He collected $700.

 

Ron Hornaday Jr. will look to extend his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series record for consecutive wins tonight at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee.

Murder Suspects In Court For Conferences

Marco Valencia, accused of causing the death of cyclist Joseph Novotny in July, was in Superior Court in San Fernando Tuesday with his lawyers to discuss a date for his preliminary hearing.

Valencia is scheduled to return will return to court September 29 for another conference.

In another capital offense, Michael Dean Stephens, the lone suspect in the murder of Canyon Country baseball player Josh Pipho after a November 2007 fight in Stevenson Ranch was also in San Fernando Superior Court for a pretrial conference.

DEA Takes 14,000 Marijuana Plants From Placerita Canyon

In a remote section of national forest land, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) partnered with the U.S. Forest Service to raid and destroy a major cropping of marijuana.

 

The operation occurred late Thursday night through Friday afternoon, where 14,000 pot plants were removed, according to DEA spokesman Jose Martinez.

 

"Hot Prowl" Burglars Arrested

Two men are behind bars after several Saugus area residents found their homes had been entered while they were sleeping and personal property stolen.

Deputies responded to the 28600 block of Rock Canyon Drive, Saugus, to reports that a resident was awoken by a man who was entering into his bedroom through a sliding glass door.

BREAKING NEWS: Newhall Incident Shooter Dies In Prison

Authories are investigating the death of Bobby Augustus Davis, who was found unresponsive in his cell Sunday morning at Kern Valley State Prison.

 

According to California State Corrections spokesperson Terry Thornton, Davis's death is being investigated as a suicide. Davis is notorious as the surviving shooter in The Newhall Incident, which changed the face of law enforcement forever.
