College of the Canyons will introduce a new program in the fall for students who need additional academic support and skills to help them succeed in the college classroom.

Sponsored by the Skills for Success initiative, the new program will offer instructor-led one-hour workshops on a variety of topics from fractions to essay writing. The workshops are designed to supplement classroom learning by providing students with additional practice and by reinforcing skills such as time management or note taking.

Bryan Herta Autosport won its first race in the Firestone Indy Lights series on Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway in Illinois.

Daniel Herrington, driving for the team owned by Valencia's Bryan Herta, led the last 25 laps of the race after passing Wade Cunningham on lap 42.

Saturday, the Dodgers defeated the Reds in Game two. The final score was 10 to 4.

On September 19, The Exotic Breeding Feline Compound's (FBFC) Feline Conservation Center will host the third of its Twilight Tour events; inviting guests to visit the center during evening hours and find out what wild cats actually do at night.
