    Homeowner Gets Home Makeover Help

    Early Saturday morning, under gloomy cloud cover and a hanging mist, about two dozen volunteers from Grace Baptist Church started tearing up the lawn of a Canyon Country home.

     

    They had permission; in fact the homeowner was ecstatic to see the volunteers busting up his concrete pathway, destroying his ground cover and churning up dust all around.

    TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Closed On Southbound I-5

    khts_trafficalertCaltrans declared a SigAlert on the southbound I-5 and closed one traffic lane between Calgrove and Lyons Avenue to clean up a diesel fuel spill for approximately three hours on Monday. Traffic was backed up in the Newhall Pass area as far back as McBean Parkway.

    Las Vegas Baseball Club Ends COC Visit On Winning Note

    The Las Vegas Summer Baseball Club won five games over the weekend at College of the Canyons. The Las Vegas team, a scout team for the Los Angeles Angels, ended its visit to College of the Canyons with two wins yesterday.

    The Las Vegas team beat the Victory team of current and incoming players to COC, 11-2, and a scout team from Riverside, 3-0.

     

    Rooks Lose Women's Soccer Game In Final Minutes

    sportslocalThe Premier Soccer Santa Clarita Valley Rooks were three minutes from recording their first tie in franchise history, but lost to the visiting So Cal Rush team, 2-1, at Canyon High School on Sunday.
    Stephanie Lowery scored her second goal of the game in the 87th minute to break a 1-1 tie. She scored in the first half to give her team a 1-0 lead.

    Dodgers Win 5-3

    Sunday, the Dodgers wrapped up their series with the Angels. The final in Anaheim was 5 to 3.
