Orca received and repacked pistachios recalled by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc., Terra Bella, the company involved in a product recall earlier this year.

    Three lanes of the northbound I-5 one mile south of Templin Highway were blocked Tuesday afternoon due to a multi-car injury accident. A SigAlert was in effect until 5:30 p.m.

    West Ranch Improves To 7-0 in Valley Invitational Baseball League

    sportswestranchThe West Ranch baseball team stayed undefeated in the Valley Invitational Baseball League over the weekend. Starter Allen Sarkissian didn’t give up a hit in five innings in a 2-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Monday.

    Jared Ortiz had two hits and his West Ranch team improved to 7-0 in the summer baseball league.

     

    On Friday, West Ranch got three hits apiece from Nico Rusconi and Sarkissian in a 9-2 win over Sylmar.

    City Council Could Add More Severe Consequences To Loud Parties

    Tuesday night, the Santa Clarita City Council will vote on a change to the municipal code that would officially declare loud parties a "public nuisance" and change the ways for dealing with them.

     

    False Alarm Fees To Go Up July 1

    khts_crimeThe Santa Clarita Sheriff 's Station responds to nearly 5,000 false alarms each year. These alarms require Deputies to respond quickly, often to learn once they arrive that the alarm was activated in error and there was an apparent malfunction.  While alarm systems can be an effective tool for crime prevention, roughly 99 percent of all alarm activations are false.

     

     

    Grass Fire In Summit

    UPDATE: Monday, June 22, 2009 at 3:29 p.m.

    A 4-5 acre grass fire has burned in a drainage area behind homes in the 24000 block of Windsor Drive in the Summit area of Valencia. Los Angeles County Fire responded and contained the fire, declaring a knockdown at 3:27 p.m.

    Traffic is still slightly congested in the area of Del Monte Drive and Windsor, due to the amount of fire equipment in the area.
