Four baseball teams from the Santa Clarita Valley will be in action today in the Valley Invitational Baseball League. Birmingham is at Hart, Cleveland is at Saugus and Kennedy is at Valencia. All games are scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

Pharmacy Robbed Of Oxycontin

Small pharmacy held up by gun-wielding trio.

Three men held up a small pharmacy in Canyon Country Wednesday morning and got away with the narcotic painkiller Oxycontin.

According to officials from the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station, the trio brandished a gun at the pharmacist working at Zoey Pharmacy on Via Princessa around 11 a.m. and demanded the drugs.

Three players from the Santa Clarita Valley were taken on the second day of the Major League Basball draft.

The Dodger selected an outfielder from Loyola Marymount University and pitcher from Pepperdine University on Day 2 of the draft.

 

McKeon Appeals For Veteran Benefits

The Santa Clarita City Council has begun a process to help stem the tide of high-occupancy homes, reacting after an outpouring of resident requests.

Upcoming City Budget Proposed

Tuesday night, City Manager Ken Pulskamp unveiled Santa Clarita’s 2009-2010 fiscal year budget, to the tune of $171 million dollars.

According to Pulskamp, this year’s budget was particularly difficult to craft due to the “devastating economic climate.”
