Transformer Blows In Newhall, Power Out

 

 

An underground high voltage vault in the sidewalk on Lyons Avenue between Avenida Rotella and Peachland Avenue in Newhall exploded shortly after 3:30 p.m., forcing concrete up from the ground and knocking out power around the area. No one was injured in the incident, but sheriff and fire officials responded to the area until Edison crews could come and make repairs.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's detectives are working to figure out who was behind a car-to-car shooting that occurred in Canyon Country at 3:25 a.m. Sunday. The incident resulted in two injuries.
