COC Gets Animation Grant


The College of the Canyons Animation Department was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Medtronic Foundation to support the ACME Animation Network, a fee-based online learning community.

ACME links students with other college students, high school students and animation industry professionals from across the nation through videoconferencing sessions.

Laval Road/Wheeler Ridge Closures Set

Caltrans is completing falsework in preparation for construction of the new overpass at Laval Road/Wheeler Ridge and will be closing the southbound I-5 freeway at that location. The south- and northbound Laval Road loop ramps Exit 219A and 219B will be closed as well.

Edison Work To Affect Traffic Around Mall Tonight


The City of Santa Clarita has announced that traffic signals at Magic Mountain Parkway and its intersections at McBean Parkway and Auto Center Drive may be affected by work being done on an electrical vault in the area by Edison crews tonight.  Signals at the Valencia Town Center may also be affected, with some delays expected.
