Pair Arrested For Shooting Out Car Windows In Valencia


Two men were arrested early Friday morning after a shooting spree that left nine cars with shattered windows in Valencia.

Newhall Redevelopment Committee Adds New Muscle

The city of Santa Clarita has shuffled around the Newhall Redevelopment committee, adding two new members and reinstating several more,

First, the Council appointed Anthony Campbell, a 25-year resident, to the redevelopment committee.  Campbell currently sits on the Associated General Contractors board in Los Angeles and brings a background in real estate and construction to the Committee.

Shooter Identified In Car-To-Car Incident

The lead suspect in a car-to-car shooting Sunday in Canyon Country has been identified as 25-year-old Michael Ray Garcia, an active gang member who lives in Valencia. When detectives serving a search warrant at his Via Gayo home arrived, they found evidence that he had just fled the location and he remains at large.

Loose Goose Makes Its Final Toast


The economy has taken down another Santa Clarita institution.

The Loose Goose is no more.

The wine enterprise founded by Peter Goossens in 2003 that started out as a wild idea for a wine event unrivaled in Southern California - the Loose Goose Wine Festival - and expanded into projects as the Loose Goose Wine Society and The Cellar, with a prominent presence in Old Town Newhall, has called it quits.


Sheriff Looking For Free-Wheelin' Bandit


Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are asking for the publics help in identifying a suspect wanted for questioning in connection with the grand theft of a bicycle from Performance Cycle in Saugus.


On Tuesday, January 13, the suspect, shown here, entered the store and purchased a bicycle with cash. While the clerk was preparing the bicycle in the back of the store, the man allegedly stole another bike.


Car Trouble Lands Drug Dealer In Jail


A Sylmar man had more than just car trouble Monday afternoon when deputies stopped to help him in the 31500 block of Castaic Road in Castaic.
