Youth Grove Ceremony Serves As Reminder

 

A ceremony honoring local youth who lost their lives in traffic-related collisions will be held tonight at 7:10 p.m. in the Youth Grove at Central Park.

City Celebrates 19th Annual Pride Week

 

If you’ve seen your neighbors working in the yard or a group of young people hauling trash out of the alleys and riverbeds, it can mean only one thing – the 19th annual Santa Clarita Pride Week is underway.  With a kickoff Saturday, nearly 400 community members and groups are currently signed up to beautify City streets, parks, schools and other areas around town before sundown on Saturday.

Porno Queen Found Dead In SCV Mobile Home

 

 

Porn star Marilyn Chambers was found dead in a mobile home Sunday evening by her daughter. Deputies responded to the residential park in the 18000 block of Vasquez Canyon Road and found Chambers unresponsive.

City Council Hoping To Get Metro Funds For Road Projects

The Santa Clarita City Council will address their local project wish list at Tuesday night's City Council meeting. As part of the city's bid to receive Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) funds, city staff has compiled grant requests totaling over $54 million for a host of local projects.

KHTS Launches Text Message Traffic Alerts

KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita's hometown radio station, will now be providing free text message traffic alerts.

The alerts will be sent out to cell phones when a major traffic incident is clogging a local thoroughfare. Only areas important to Santa Clarita residents will be included. Local surface streets, Interstate 5 and Highway 14 will be focused on for these alerts, however the northern section of the 405 will also be monitored during peak commuter hours.

Kings To Give Shirts Off Their Backs For Fan Appreciation Day

The Los Angeles Kings will give away both "The Shirts Off Their Backs" and a brand new Toyota Tundra as the team celebrates Fan Appreciation Day at STAPLES Center on Saturday, April 11, at 1 p.m. 

Twenty-six lucky fans, chosen at random from the crowd, will win authentic game-worn jerseys following the Kings-San Jose game.  Fans attending Saturday's game will also be eligible to win several other prizes, including the Toyota Tundra.
