after the Buckweed Fire scorched over 38,000 acres and the recent Marek and
Sesnon Fires burned more than 60 structures resulting in two deaths, the Los
Angeles County Fire Department urges residents to attend “Living In the Fire
Zone” expo to learn to protect their lives and their homes.

A mother convicted of killing her newborn
girl and dumping her body in a trash bin was sentenced today to 25
years to life in prison, the District Attorney’s office announced.
