Fire Expo Part Of Chief's New Outreach Plan

Nearly one year
after the Buckweed Fire scorched over 38,000 acres and the recent Marek and
Sesnon Fires burned more than 60 structures resulting in two deaths, the Los
Angeles County Fire Department urges residents to attend “Living In the Fire
Zone” expo to learn to protect their lives and their homes.

A mother convicted of killing her newborn
girl and dumping her body in a trash bin was sentenced today to 25
years to life in prison, the District Attorney’s office announced.

New Site Proposed For Castaic High School

Third time around may actually bring campus to north area.

The
third potential site for Castaic High
School will be presented to the William S. Hart
District Governing Board tonight after a series of meetings with property
owners and other area stakeholders. This round’s winner: a 50-acre parcel dubbed
Sterling Gateway Residential that could cost the district $20 million.

Fire Expo Planned For Saturday

Fire Department is offering a free wildland fire demonstration from11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Station 124 in Stevenson
Ranch.
