    of unforeseen changes to their specific route through U-Text.

    U-text is a text messaging service that allows commuters to subscribe
    and receive mobile phone text alerts when there are urgent changes to a

    Baby Jacob Loses Fight Against Leukemia

    Young boy who inspired many passes away from cancer.

    Jacob Fierro, christened “Baby Jacob” by the community which held fundraisers and bone marrow drives in the hopes of helping him survive, lost his battle against leukemia and lymphoma Friday night.

    Funeral services are planned Thursday at at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills and the public is invited to attend.

    LARC Ranch Vehicles Vandalized Early Saturday Morning

    Passenger bus, ranch truck among vehicles with punctured tires.

    Ten vehicles on the campus of Los Angeles Retarded Citizens Ranch were vandalized early Saturday morning.

    Kathleen Sturkey, executive director of the facility reported that sometime before 1:45 a.m. Saturday, the tires were punctured on several fleet vehicles, including the ranch bus, which is essential should the residents need to evacuate the premises.

    More Leaves Prompt More Street Sweepers

    Falling leaves mean more frequent street sweeping.

    Starting today the City of Santa
    Clarita
    will begin increasing the frequency of street
    sweeping throughout all areas of the City. Previously, areas were swept every
    other week, but will now be swept on a weekly basis during the fall. The street
    sweeping will return to the bi-weekly schedule in January.
