    Mayor Recognizes Employers For Hiring Special Needs Workers

    Mayor Bob Kellar will preside over special luncheon honoring local employers.

    Thirty-two local employers will be honored for their part in
    building the self-esteem and confidence of special individuals at the Santa
    Clarita Valley Mayor’s Committee for the Employment of Individuals With
    Disabilities luncheon Thursday, hosted by Santa Clarita Mayor Bob Kellar.

    Settlement Reached In CLWA Lawsuit

    A lawsuit filed by the Friends of the Santa
    Clara River and
    the California Water Impact Network against the Castaic Lake Water Agency and
    its subsidiaries CLWA Santa Clarita Water Division, Newhall County Water
    District and the Valencia Water Company was settled Friday with a decision to
    uphold the 2005 Urban Water Management Program (UWMP).

    Law Enforcement Teams Confiscate More Than 100 Guns In September

    During the month of September, D.I.S.A.R.M officers
    confiscated 105 weapons – including 58 handguns and 17 rifles/shotguns, over a million
    dollars in illegal drugs, and arrested 185 probationers during 1,940
    unannounced searches of residences, persons, vehicles, and businesses,
    announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
