    Brush Fire Near Templin Highway

    UPDATE: 6:05pm

    A small brush fire burned Wednesday off the northbound I-5 just south of Templin Highway.

    The blaze burned approximately 50 acres, and some power lines and transformers were burned in the area. The fire was knocked down shortly before the 6pm hour.

    A child was hit by a car Tuesday afternoon in front of Wiley Canyon

    CHP Goes To 12-12 Coverage

    Shift changes will put more cars on the streets, good for commuters.

    Drivers in the Santa Clarita Valley area will have an added
    measure of protection – as well as more oversight in the violations department –
    now that the Newhall office of the California Highway Patrol has gone to 12-12
    shifts.

    Starting today, officers will be working 12 hour shifts, instead
    of the traditional 8 ½ hours, adding overlap times when eyes on the road are
    most critically needed.

    from the city’s Economic Development department last week in an empty suite
    near the industrial park and talked about the challenges and opportunities of
    bringing more commercial endeavors to Santa Clarita.

    came home with two awards from the 2008 Clean Air Awards ceremonies sponsored
    by the South Coast Air Quality Management District after a luncheon held at the
    Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
