Street Brawl Lands Three Juveniles In Jail

Canyon Country party turns into gang-related brawl.

Three juveniles are in custody this morning after an early morning gang-related fight spilled into the street in Canyon Country.

Around 12:30 a.m., sheriffs received a call about an assault with a deadly weapon in the 27000 block of Walnut Springs after a party at that location grew into a street brawl. Deputies initially detained 40 people.

28 Juveniles Cited For Curfew At Party

Parents arrive and the party's over.

A fight broke out at a loud party at 28026 Damar Court in Canyon Country at 11 p.m. Friday, causing sheriff's deputies to corral 28 underage partygoers.

"It was a situation where the parents were gone and the kids threw a party," said Sgt. Ron Price of the Santa Clarita Sheriff's station. "We cited 28 juveniles and their parents had to come pick them up from that location.

No one was injured in the scuffle.

Special Olympics Shifts Emphasis In Sports

Number of sports decreases to make better use of resources.

Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) is reorganizing
its sports seasons to be able to serve more individuals with intellectual
disabilities.  Beginning immediately, the number of sports offered will
shift from 20 to 12, allowing for more athletes to be served with a more
efficient use of resources. Programs will continue to be free of charge to
athletes and their families.
