    City Officials Share Goals, Accomplishments

    Packed ballroom hears city plans and achievements.

    More than 300 people filled the grand ballroom of the Hyatt
    Valencia for the annual State of the City luncheon, where city Council members
    brought guests up to speed on new projects and crowed a bit about their
    accomplishments.

    One of the most exciting pieces of news was Councilwoman
    Marsha McLean’s announcement that the popular flyaway service to LAX would extend
    to the Transit Center
    next door to the hotel sometime in 2009.

    A high pressure gas main that was severed near the Ralph’s shopping center at the intersection of

    Castaic
    Road
    and
    Lake Hughes Road
    has been shut off and the Gas Company is on scene making repairs.

    Castaic Road had been closed north of Lake Hughes, but all roads are open now.

    Crews Pounce On Small Brush Fire

    Small fire reported in Canyon Country wash.

    Firefighters responded to the wash behind the Tres Robles Condos at River Circle and Soledad Canyon Road just after 2:00 p.m. today, where dark smoke had been seen.

    The small brush fire that was burning was quickly put out by two fire engine crews.
