Governor Signs State Budget

Schwarzenegger makes a few revisions to legislator's proposed budget before signing on the dotted line.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger ended the long state budget
impasse Tuesday by signing a budget that includes both cuts and increased
revenues.

The compromise, proposed by the legislature Sunday night and
tweaked by the governor on Monday, maintains education funding at Proposition
98 levels and does not borrow funding from voter-approved local government or
transportation funds.

Musical Road Hits Sour Note With Lancaster Residents

Lancaster road trip not quite the classic they had hoped.

And you thought angled back in parking in downtown Newhall was a silly idea – we’ll here’s one from
our neighbors to the north.

Lancaster
officials made a deal with Honda to cut grooves in Avenue K between 62nd
and

70th Street West

so motorists driving over the road at 55 m.p.h will hear the "William Tell
Overture."
