    Power Knocked Out By Suspected Drunk Driver

    Pole knocked over on Whites Canyon takes power with it.


    In what is becoming a regular weekend morning experience, Canyon County residents woke up Sunday morning without power because of a traffic accident.

    Canyon Country resident Marco Valencia, 20, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after he struck and knocked down a power pole at Ranier Street and Whites Canyon Road.

    The power went out at 6:38 a.m. and was restored by 8:20 a.m.

    VIA Star Competition Combines Student Brains With Business Brawn

    The fourth annual VIA Star Competition will pair students with local businesses.

    The Valley Industrial Association (VIA) Star Competition is a contest in which students from elementary, Jr. High and High Schools create new business products in partnerships with local business members.

    This competition has been integrating student minds with business professionals for the past three years, and will once again be offering prizes for the top three business product proposals.
