Antonovich Measure To Oppose 1/2 Cent Tax Approved

On a 3-2 vote today, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion by Supervisors Michael D. Antonovich and Gloria Molina to oppose the MTA’s proposed sales tax increase for its failure to distribute transportation dollars equitably.

Caltrans Closures Near Grapevine

Road repairs require nightly closures.


The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be working on repairing the roadway near the Grapevine and will close two to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Vista del Lago to Quail Lake Road between the hours of 5 p.m. and 11 a.m.


Hate Crime In Canyon Country

Black man attacked without provocation by two strangers.


An African-American man was attacked Saturday night when two men approached him on Benida Lane in Canyon Country and started shouting at him.


The victim was sitting in his 1981 Ford Mustang with a woman when two men walked up to the vehicle and began to yell.

Domestic Violence Strikes In Canyon Country

Probation violator is in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.


A 52-year-old woman was treated for injuries she received during a fight with her live-in boyfriend Sunday evening. The boyfriend, probation violator John Naglich, 49, was arrested for attempted murder and is being held at the Santa Clarita Valley Station in lieu of $1 million bail.
