Rescuer suddenly becomes victim of enraged man.
A sheriff’s deputy trying to help a man he found laying in the wash near Sierra Highway and Sandy Drive Saturday afternoon, suddenly had to defend himself.
The deputy saw the man lying motionless on the ground with a contusion on his forehead and called paramedics. When the deputy tried to wake the man, the man jumped up and began to throw punches at his rescuer, yelling threats and grabbing a wooden plank, which he started swinging at the deputy.
