Fourth of July Parade Lineup Announced

Annual parade features something for everyone.


At 9:45 a.m. Friday, the first official parade on Main Street will commence, as the Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade will wind its way from Hart Park toward Lyons Avenue, turning on Orchard Village Road and ending at Dalby Drive.

The parade features marchers, kids on bikes, politicians, beauty queens, actors, Cub Scouts, cheerleaders and a lot of old-fashioned American patriotism to celebrate America's independence.

Valencia Man In Custody On Suspicion Of Rape

Valencia man accused of assaulting Castaic woman.


A Valencia man was arrested Wednesday morning, suspected of raping a Castaic woman.


Timothy Woodhead, 20, was taken into custody at the scene of the incident, near Vista Valencia Golf Course.

A 57-year-old Pearblossom woman accused of abusing horses and other animals pleaded no contest today to two felony counts of animal cruelty.

Janis Ridgeway Damiani was sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison by Superior Court Judge Richard E. Naranjo on Monday.
