Sheriff's Investigation Will Close Soledad Lanes Today

ImageAccording to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station, motorists should expect delays on Soledad Canyon Road between Crossglade Avenue and Luther Drive on Wednesday, July 30th, 2008, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m, as the SCV Sheriff Station's Traffic Office will be conducting a collision investigation on the roadway.

 

EARTHQUAKE ROCKS SANTA CLARITA

An earthquake rocked Santa Clarita just after 11:42 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29th.

 

UPDATE: 2:34 PM

ImageThe quake was reported at a 5.4 magnitude, with an origin southwest of Chino Hills.  It rolled for approximately 20 seconds. An 3.8 aftershock followed 9 minutes later. A total of 10 aftershocks were officially reported.

A small brush fire broke out this morning in the area of the southbound 14 Freeway and I-5 junction.

Fire officials report that it started as a vehicle fire that spread to a 1/4 acre next to the car. Engines are on scene and expect a quick knockdown.
