    Suspect Shatters Glass Door, Patrol Car Window

    Assault suspect helps self to smokes and drinks after hitting roommate.

     

    Deputies arrested a Canyon Country man on burglary and assault charges early Saturday morning after responding to an assault call in the 28000 block of Sand Canyon Road.

    While deputies checked the area around the apartment, they heard an audible burglary alarm coming from the Canyon Liquor Store at 16507 Soledad Canyon Road.  As they approached the liquor store, the deputy saw that the front glass door had been shattered. 

    Weapons, Drugs Confiscated By DISARM Deputies

    During the month of May, D.I.S.A.R.M officers confiscated 114 weapons -- including 52 handguns and 27 rifles/shotguns, over $7 million in illegal drugs, and arrested 116 probationers during 1,818 unannounced searches of residences, persons, vehicles, and businesses.

    Academy Candidates Feted By Congressman

    Students headed for West Point, Annapolis and Colorado Springs given sendoff by McKeon.

     

    Several 2008 graduates have stars and stripes in their future plans and got a little help from Congressman Buck McKeon with their college admissions.

     

    Receiving appointments to the Military Academy at West Point, the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs and the Naval Academy at Annapolis are 10 young men and women, who were feted by McKeon at a luncheon Saturday afternoon.

    Altercation At Magic Mountain Sunday Night

    Incident not gang-related, authorities say.

     

    An altercation most likely driven by heat and impatience happened at Magic Mountain Sunday evening, resulting in one arrest and one minor injury.

    Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Dunkle said that San Diego resident Terrence Thomas, 23, was arrested for interfering with a peace officer during the melee near the park’s new X2 ride.
