    More Arrests In Health Products Theft Ring

    More than 100 items recovered in warrant service, arrests made.

    Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station served additional search warrants, arrested two more suspects and recovered more than 100 pieces of stolen product Tuesday morning in connection with a large booster theft ring operating in the Santa Clarita Valley and throughout California.     Health, Air Quality Advisories Issued By County

    Los Angeles County health officials issued two warnings for local residents today: a heat advisory and an air quality alert. The heat advisory is county-wide, while the air quality alert is restricted to the Santa Clarita Valley.

    Zonta Shares The Wealth With Nonprofits

    Grants given to five local charities.

     

    Five non-profit organizations in the Santa Clarita Valley have a total of $11,000 more to support their program of work, thanks to community grants from Zonta Foundation of SCV.

                Zonta presented its 2008 grants at the club’s May business meeting to selected organizations whose work supports the mission of Zonta. Zonta Foundation is the non-profit philanthropic arm of Zonta Club of the SCV, whose mission is to advance the status of women locally and worldwide.

    Palmdale Airport To Add More SFO Flights

    Schedule to double for major West Coast hub city.

     

    Beginning September 3, United Airlines will double the number of flights between LA/Palmdale Regional Airport and San Francisco International Airport to improve convenience and provide new options for air travelers.  San Francisco International is a worldwide hub where travelers can make easy connections to and from 35 connecting markets.

    Las Lomas Developer Files Suit Against City of L.A.

    Lawsuit not unexpected, but is one of a list of legal problems with hillside development.

     

    In a movement expected by the City Attorney, Las Lomas Land Company and developer Dan Palmer has filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court over the L.A. City Council’s March 19 vote to stop all activity on the project.
