Dodgers Lose 6-1

Former District Attorney Gil Garcetti To Speak At COC

Garcetti will mark Earth Day Celebration.
This month College of the Canyons will host an Earth Day celebration featuring giveaways, vender booths, student presentations and a variety of environmentally themed panel discussions — including a special presentation on water and sustainability by former Los Angeles County District Attorney, and highly acclaimed photographer, Gil Garcetti.

Theatre Project SCV Beginning Sunday Salons

All Corked Up will host three events.


Theater Project SCV has announced a series of three salon performances at All Corked Up, beginning May 18.


The Sunday afternoon events, which will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. , will give guests the opportunity to enjoy performances from Broadway, film and television professionals in the wine bar’s intimate atmosphere. Future salon afternoons will be held  June 29 and July 20.

McKeon Applauds Student Loan Access

Bill passed will have an impact on local college students.
The U.S. House of Representatives has overwhelmingly approved bipartisan legislation to ensure that the turmoil in the U.S. credit markets does not prevent any students or parents from accessing the financial aid they need to pay for college. The legislation was passed by a vote of 383-27.

Minor School Bus Accident

No injuries reported.
This afternoon, a Special Education Bus for the Saugus Union School District was involved in a very minor collision with another vehicle.


The accident occurred on Avenida Rotella, as the bus was leaving Old Orchard Elementary. While Old Orchard Elementary is not in the Saugus School District, it is not uncommon for Special Education students to be transferred across District lines for services.


Suspected Rapist Held To Answer On 27 Counts

Suspect is reported to have been deported twice.


Adrian Guadalupe Arriano, who was arrested in Sept. 2007 on suspicion of rape, was held to answer by a San Fernando judge and is being held on $10 million bail.
