Beloved CHP Officer Dies After Long Illness

Familiar face to commercial drivers loses battle with cancer.


Alan Brice Clinkscales, 56, a longtime commercial vehicle inspector for the California Highway Patrol, will be remembered for his spirit and willingness to help others. He died March 26 after a bout with cancer.


CHP Will Conduct A DUI Checkpoint Friday

Keeping the streets safe for all


Friday, April 4th a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted by the CHP in the unicorporated
area of the SCV. The checkpoint will be enforced between 8PM-3AM. The goal of the DUI checkpoint is to create awareness and deter people from driving under the influence.

Club To Hold Open House Wednesday

Boys & Girls Club Week is March 30  through April 5. The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley invites the  public to its open house on April 2 from 4-6 p.m.


Everyone is welcome to stop by the central facility on that date for a  tour.  It is located in Newhall at 24909 Newhall Avenue between Hart High School and Placerita Junior High on Newhall Park.

Traffic Signals Synchronized On Busy County Roads

The Old Road, Copper Hill Drive traffic improvements will make for smoother travel.


To reduce congestion, pollution, travel time, and enhance public safety, traffic lights at 22 intersections located along The Old Road and Copper Hill Roads in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County have been synchronized to improve the flow of traffic. 


The routes and limits of the synchronization are as follows:

·The Old Road from Pico Canyon Road to Lake Hughes Road (13 intersections)

Magic Mountain Parkway/I-5 Improvements Making Progress

Construction projects completed along pipeline.


The rehabilitation of the Los Angeles County Sanitation District's main sewer trunk line and ExxonMobil's major pipelines are complete along Magic Mountain Parkway and The Old Road. Two lanes are now open to vehicular traffic for both eastbound and westbound traffic on Magic Mountain Parkway. This enables us to expand our construction activities for the proposed widening of Magic Mountain Parkway and the realignment of The Old Road.
