    After more than 21,000 votes were counted for two open seats on the Santa Clarita City Council, incumbent Mayor Bob Kellar and Parks Commissioner Laurie Ender emerged victorious.

    Carradine, Saxon and Lilley To Be Honored On Walk Of Western Stars

    Three will be feted with gala dinner at Hyatt, bronze saddle plaques on Main Street in Newhall.

     

    Three Western stars will “saddle up” for honors at the City of Santa Clarita’s Walk of Western Stars (WOWS) April 25 at the Hyatt Valencia after bronze and terrazzo plaques bearing their name are unveiled in Old Town Newhall. The event is part of the annual Cowboy Festival which opens April 23 and runs through April 27.

     

    Dodgers Lose To Diamondbacks 4-3

    In a game heard live on KHTS, the Arizona Diamondbacks won the third and final game of the series, sweeping the Dodgers today 4-3. The Dodgers are off on Thursday and back in action Friday night at home against the Padres, starting at 7pm on AM-1220 KHTS! 

    Copper Wire Theft Averted In Canyon Country

    Deputies catch suspects coming to pick up the goods.

     

    One suspect was arrested and another remains at large after the theft of a large amount of copper wire was averted by an alert Department of Water and Power employee.

    Music Legends Herb Alpert and Lani Hall Donate $15 Million To CalArts

    Donation will support faculty chairs, scholarships and music programs.

     

    Eight-time Grammy award winner and A&M Records co-founder Herb Alpert and his wife, Grammy-winning vocalist Lani Hall, have made a $15 million gift to the School of Music at CalArts. President Steven D. Lavine announced that the school would be renamed The Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts in recognition of this historic gift and The Herb Alpert Foundation's long-time support of CalArts.

    Townhome Fire Knocked Down

    Fire breaks out in Colony Townhomes...

     A house fire that broke out in the Colony Townhome complex of Santa Clarita has now been knocked down. Fire officials responded to the scene and quickly got the fire under control. The Colony townhomes are located just east of the 14 freeway, between Via Princessa and Sand Canyon.
