    The Dodgers won big over the Florida Marlins Wednesday, with a final score of 13-1. Thursday's game is an early start on the west coast- tune in at 8:30am, on AM-1220 KHTS! 

    Ferrone Named As Top VIDA Deputy

    Deputy honored for his dedication to our community's youth.

     

    Santa Clarita’s own Deputy Timothy Ferrone was named “VIDA Deputy of the Year” at the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Salute to Youth dinner on April 25.  Ferrone’s nomination came from the Sheriff Department’s Community Oriented Policing Services Bureau, who described him has extraordinary, outstanding and special.

     

     

    Water Conservation Recommended To Survive Summer

    Community and city asked to work together and cut back.

     

    Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.

    It’s not quite that bad yet, but water conservation is a priority of the Castaic Lake Water Agency and the City of Santa Clarita, which is asking everyone to reduce their water usage by 10 percent this summer.

    According to the CLWA, our community uses on average about 600 gallons of water per household each day, which exceeds regional averages.

    Deputies And Donors Dive In The Deep End

    Cold waters await donors with big hearts for the Special Olympics.

     

    Deputy Artie Thompson is always willing to take one for the kids.

    That’s why he’ll be putting on swim trunks and taking a dive into the wave pool at Hurricane Harbor at 9 a.m. Friday to raise money for Santa Clarita Special Olympics.

    Thompson will be joined in this noble endeavor by Deputies Jim Vanderleek and Knute Pourroy and Reserve Deputy Dave Christianson.

    Smyth Surrogate Stalker Act Clears Committee

    Bill passes Senate Public Safety Committee on path to approval.

     

    Assembly Bill 534, authored by Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, R-Santa Clarita, today passed out of the Senate Public Safety Committee.  This bill, which is known as the “Surrogate Stalker Act” is in an attempt to stop pedophiles and surrogate stalkers such as Jack McClellan. 

     

    Estrada Named As Alliance Director

    Pepperdine alumna named to head business liaison group.

     

    Adriana Estrada, the former assistant director of career services for the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University, has been named executive director of the SCV School & Business Alliance.

     

    The Alliance serves as a liaison between local schools and the business community and sponsors a number of programs to help local students prepare for the world of work after graduation.

    Man Struck By Car In Crosswalk

    Early morning accident leaves pedestrian in hospital.

     

    Just before 7:00 this morning, a seventy six year old Newhall man was crossing Sierra Highway near Whispering Leaves Way. According to eyewitnesses, Charlie Wang was using a marked crosswalk to traverse the road when a car driven by Palmdale resident Blanca Ayala reportedly ran a red light and struck him.

     

    He was transported to Henry May hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

    Golden Valley High Counselor Under Investigation For Inappropriate Relations With Student

    Allegations of inappropriate behavior filed against female high school counselor.

    Investigators  from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau are investigating a complaint against a female counselor at Golden Valley High School who allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old male student.
