    Residents Put Their Bikes To Good Use

    SCV residents took the chance to hit the trail as part of a City sponsored bike rally that was held at BridgeportPark Saturday afternoon.

    Forest Fire Danger Level Lowered To Moderate

    Forest service asks public to “Know Before You Go” into the snow.

    Winter conditions continue throughout the upper elevations of the San Gabriel Mountains, luring city dwellers to experience the snow firsthand. But Forest visitors are urged to plan their trips in advance and take along a few essential winter safety items such as tire chains, which may be required for passage. Also, those visiting the mountains should dress appropriately for winter weather and carry extra food, water and blankets in case you’re stranded.

     

    Aggressive Solicitors Targeting Sand Canyon

    Deputies to step up patrols.

    On Thursday at around 6:00pm, residents in the Sand Canyon area reported seeing a burgundy Ford van with Arizona license plate CF24614 dropping off several scamming solicitors.

    According to residents, the solicitors tried to use a number of fabrications to try and solicit funds from the residents including saying they were from a charity, with the Red Cross, or selling magazines.

    Reportedly, when they were told 'no', they became hostile, aggressive, and even attempted to push the door to a residence open.

    Carjacking Suspects Flee Scene

    Attempted carjacking at Costco results in crash.

     

    An attempted carjacking in the Costco parking lot on Via Princessa in Canyon Country ended up in a traffic accident that snarled Friday night traffic with the suspects fleeing the scene.
