Blue Cross Labs Sued By Proctor and Gamble

Local company told to pull product, destroy molds.


Santa Clarita’s Blue Cross Laboratories has been accused of copycat packaging by soap giant Proctor and Gamble, which filed suit in U.S. District Court Monday.

The Valencia-based company manufactures and distributes “Herbal Passion” shampoo at discount and dollar stores, which attorneys say mimics P&G’s Herbal Essence brand line. Proctor and Gamble is demanding that Blue Cross stop distributing the products, recall existing inventory from store shelves and destroy bottle molds.

CHP Asks For Public's Help

Pickup truck sought in hit-and-run fatality.


The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public's assistance in locating a pickup truck suspected in a fatal hit-and-run New Year's Day.

At approximately 10:13 p.m. Jan. 1, a truck described as a large gray or dark-colored "dually" pickup truck towing a red utility trailer struck a disabled Dodge Caravan in the #3 lane of the northbound Golden State Freeway and a 14-year-old boy standing alongside the vehicle attempting to wave down traffic.

Trace Adkins Coming To Valencia Jan. 16

Country music superstar Trace Adkins, famous for songs like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and “Ladies Love Country Boys” will be in Valencia next Wednesday.

Adkins will be at Barnes and Noble Booksellers on Valencia Boulevard between Creekside Road and Magic Mountain Parkway at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 signing copies of his book “A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck.”

Become A Docent-Naturalist In 9 Weeks

Placerita Canyon Nature Center needs volunteer Docent-Naturalists to lead hikes.


Kick off this year with some up close and personal time with nature. Docent Naturalist training begins this Tuesday, January 8th, and everyone is encouraged to participate.  The training requires volunteers to attend meetings every Tuesday and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and noon for nine weeks.  But don’t worry if you can’t make a class, because you can watch a DVD and catch up on the lesson.    


Illegal Aliens Receive $37 Million From County In November

New statistics from the Department of Public Social Services reveal that illegal aliens and their families in Los Angeles County collected over $37 million in welfare and food stamp allocations in November 2007 – up $3 million dollars from September, announced Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
