    Lockheed Player of the Week - Delano Howell

    Delano Howell the Hart High School Senior RB/ DB had 410 yards in total offense, scored two touchdowns and set up the winning field goal with his 58 yard run in the closing seconds of the game in Friday night’s thrilling win over the Canyon Cowboys. 

     

    He also had a major impact in shutting down the Cowboy passing attack playing cornerback. 

     

    Congratulations, Delano Howell, from Lockheed Federal Credit Union and KHTS AM-1220!

     

    For his efforts Lockheed Federal Credit Union will donate $250 to the Hart High booster club.

    One Car Crash Kills Two

    Car went off I-5 and landed in dirt embankment below. 

     

    Yesterday at 8:20 p.m., a car overturned on the I-5 freeway near Quail Lake road and killed two of its five passengers.  The driver, Carlos Alvarez Uribe was traveling southbound and was not speeding.  He was in the #3 lane, but suddenly swerved into the slow lane and went over the right shoulder.  For unknown reasons, he then lost control of the Chevrolet Silverado he was driving and went down a dirt embankment.

    • Caltrans has announced that they have opened the I-5 northbound TRUCK LANES. 
    • All motorists are being advised to plan for an extra 2 hours during their commute Monday morning.

    Holy Cross Pays Rent For YMCA

    $70,000 to be donated for YMCA facilities costs

    Kerry Carmody, Administrator of Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, will present an oversized check for $70,000 to the North Valley YMCA today, in an effort to offset the cost of rent for their Infant and Preschool Center, located near the hospital.

     

    Providence Holy Cross once owned the land and allowed the YMCA’s child care center to operate on it rent-free. The property has changed ownership twice since Holy Cross owned it.  The $70,000 check will offset the rental costs for the center.

    Wrapping up an unbelievable weekend of local football action, Saugus, behind Ryan Zirbel’s 251 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns, beat West Ranch 35 to 6.  Valencia’s Graham Wilbert threw for 3 touchdowns and ran for another in the Vikings 63 to 14 rout over Golden Valley.  Santa Clarita Christian beat Southlands Christian 66 to 25. Collin Keoshian rushed for 3 touchdowns, passed for 1 and returned an interception for a touchdown to lead the Cardinals to the win. The COC Cougars beat Glendale College 19 to 10.
