In the first night of Foothill league play on Friday, the Hart Indians kicked a field goal with no time remaining on the clock, to beat the Canyon Cowboys 31-28, in a game heard live on KHTS. In other local action, Valencia beat Golden Valley 63-14, while Saugus defeated West Ranch 35-6.

Last weekend I decided to take a break and do a bit of exploring. So I grabbed my camera, headed south on San Fernando Road and parked where it dead-ends at Hwy 14. This is the entrance to the open spaces at Whitney Canyon and… as of August 30...Elsmere Canyon.
