    The defending State Football Champion Canyon Cowboys Head Coach Chris Varner has announced the firing of John DiLuigi as Defensive Coordinator.  DiLuigi was in his second season as the coordinator, and fifth season as a Cowboys coach.  Varner will take over the defense for the remainder of the season.  John had already planned to move on after the season so he could follow the career of his son J.J., a freshman running back at BYU.  J.J. is Canyons all-time rushing leader.

    KHTS first reported alleged Mountain Lion Attacks in Canyon Country after two horses on the same property were attacked. Both survived, however their injuries appeared to be from a large cat, not a more common area predator such as a coyote.
