Public invited

The public is invited to discover all that Congregation Beth Shalom of the Santa Clarita Valley has to offer at a series of summer Open Houses to be held at the Canyon Country synagogue, the first of which will be held on Sunday, August 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Additional CBS Open Houses are scheduled for Thursday, August 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, September 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Tuesday, September 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Fire broke out at 3:30pm by Valencia High School. Firefighters contained the fire and quickly put it out.

UPDATE 4:05 PM

At approximately 3:30pm, a brushfire broke out in the riverbed across from Valencia High School.  L.A. County Fire ground crews with the assistance of air units were able to quickly knock down this blaze. No structures were threatened.
