UPDATE: Agua Dulce Fire gobbles up 815 acres before getting extinguished

At around 6:00pm Sunday evening, firefighters finally called knockdown on a massive blaze that tortured Agua Dulce residents over the course of the weekend.

Nearly 40 homes were evacuated along Agua Dulce Canyon Road, as well as Vasquez Rocks Park.  The evacuations lasted only a few hours, and no structures were lost to this fire.

400 firefighters fought the blaze, which was first reported at 2:30pm Saturday afternoon. 

Students will demonstrate their abilities at show.

Afternoon Traffic Snarled In Valencia.

Traffic backed up quickly in Valencia Saturday afternoon due to a downed fire hydrant at the intersection of Valencia Boulevard and Cinema Drive. The white pickup truck involved also took out a traffic signal control box.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 PM and impacted traffic at the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and Valencia Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

Hwy 138 improvements made a top priority

State Senator George Runner (R-Antelope Valley) today applauded Will Kempton, director of Caltrans, and the commissioners of the California Transportation Commission for their support of continued improvements to a portion of Highway 138, and for assuring that further funding is probable.
