Filming Goes Through The Roof In May

Big month sees filming increase 93%

The City of Santa Clarita announced today that location filming increased 93 percent in May 2007 compared with May 2006. The Film Office issued 27 film permits in May 2007, compared with 14 permits issued in May 2006. In total the Film Office has issued 295 permits for filming within the City of Santa Clarita during the first eleven months of Fiscal Year (FY) 2006-2007, already a 4 percent increase over FY 2005-2006 and there’s still one month remaining in the year.

County Gets Bolster From Security Grant

To increase the County’s ability to prevent and respond to terrorism, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $5.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s 2006 Los Angeles/Long Beach Urban Area Security Grant, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
