    Mayors Prayer Breakfast Battling Controversy

    Some call into question the keynote speaker.

     

    The Mayors Prayer breakfast is not, contrary to popular belief, the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.  

     

    The city of Santa Clarita and Mayor Marsha McLean do not sponsor the event; however, the Mayor is planning on being there.  

     

    Recently, some recent online statements are calling on the Mayor not to attend the event, due to the Daily News report that keynote speaker Ralph Drollinger made insensitive comments about women legislators and Catholicism.

    Watters Edge Design Wins ADDY's

    Three advertising awards come home with Watters Edge Design.

    The ADDY awards are given to advertising professionals by the American Advertising Federation (AAF).

     

    Play Follows "The Exonerated"

    Hart students take on heavy subject matter.

    Starting Thursday, May 3rd, Hart High School students will star in, produce and direct “The Exonerated.”

     

    The play follows the lives of six people who are wrongly accused of crimes, and end up on death row.

     

    While they eventually get cleared, the play takes an involving look into what life is like for these people before, during and after such an event.

     

    The play will be performed at 7:00pm in Hart High’s black box theatre May 3rd, 4th and 5th.

     

    Interfaith Council Sponsors Prayer

    National Day of Prayer aims to bring SCV together.

    On Thursday, May 3, 2007, the Santa Clarita Interfaith Council will sponsor a National Day of Prayer event at 12 noon in front of City Hall (23920 Valencia, Blvd., Valencia.)   

               

    The public is invited to celebrate our community’s rich religious diversity by joining many of our faith communities sharing in their own prayer tradition. Prayers will be offered from the Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Native American and Pagan traditions.

               

    Dodgers Win In 9th: 2-1

    In dramatic fashion, the Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks with some late inning heroics, 2-1!The series with the Diamondbacks will conclude tomorrow in a special day time game.  Coverage will begin at 11:30 am on Your Hometown Station, AM 1220, KHTS!
